On April 4, Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s founder, asked netizens on Weibo which Xiaomi phone they preferred, ahead of the company’s 12th anniversary. The voting Xiaomi phone models are Mi 2, Mi 4, Mi 6, Mi 10 Supreme, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi Note, Mi MIX and Mi MIX 2 Unibody. The poll has closed, with 45% of 48,000 participants voting for the Mi 6.
Why it matters
The Mi 6, launched in April 2017, was still being used by 2.15 million people in 2021. Even though full-screen phones were popular in the mobile market at the time, the Mi 6 was loved by many consumers. Lei Jun also asked consumers on Weibo why they like Mi 6? This is mainly due to the extreme cost performance. Consumers can buy a Snapdragon 835 processor phone at the price of 2,499 yuan ($393). In addition, Mi 6 is very exquisite in detail, with an excellent hand feel and user-friendly operation interface.
