Recently, several automakers hit by raw material price variations have announced price increases. In response, NIO stated that price stability is beneficial to both users and the market, and NIO has no plans to raise prices in the short term.

However, international raw material prices, as well as chip’s supply and demand, have dramatically affected the cost of the entire supply chain. According to NIO, it will also make adaptable decisions in response to changing situations.

At the start of 2022, China’s new energy subsidies continued to decrease, and a number of new energy vehicle companies hiked their prices successively, while NiO did not. It is worth noting that, as a result of fluctuating raw material prices, Tesla, BYD, NETA, XPeng, Leapmotor, and other automakers have officially announced price increases for many of their models, ranging from 2,000 to 30,000 yuan.

Li Xiang, CEO of Li Auto, said on March 19, “So far, brands that have already agreed on cost increases with battery manufacturers in the second quarter have announced price increases immediately. Those brands that have not yet raised prices, most of which have not yet been negotiated, will generally raise prices immediately after reaching an agreement. “
